Learning sometimes looks a little messy

At Stratton your child will not only pick up a paint brush but they will play with all the toys. You will see their artwork hanging on the wall.

We also take inspiration with philosophies such as Reggio Emilia, our learning programs encourage children to explore, be curious and use their creative gifts.

The centre has kept with  tradition and continues to offer the type of environment that their parents yearn to return to. Play-based & fun child led activities that help children express themselves.

Stratton OSHC Indoor Activities
Culturally inclusive and family-centred

We are a culturally diverse centre with children, staff and parents that come from different parts of the world. We celebrate our diversity and work with families to ensure cultural events are explored and celebrated.

Your children may participate in a cultural day such as Chinese New Year. We also ensure other special ocassion days are as fun and engaging as possible. Children have participated in days such as talk like a pirate, earth day, pancake day, grandparents day, fairy bread day, are you OK day and the list goes on.

Lynne Dowman
Family Owned and Operated

We are known within the Stratton, Swan View, Middle Swan, Jane Brook and Gidgegannup communities as the childcare centre that has been around for decades.

You will often see the owner Lynne working in the centre and working along side educators. This helps build trusting relationships with families.

The centre prides itself on staying small and intimate so it can continue to offer consistency of educators and enhance that feeling of being a second home.

Stratton Children Eating 1.1
Nutritious Meals prepared with options

At Stratton we have a dedicated food co-ordinator. The menu is planned within healthy eating guidelines that is updated every 4 weeks.

All meals that are provided – morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, snacks are nut-free. We provide colour coded plates to help keep children safe who have allergies and/or other dietary requirements. We are mindful and sensitive to any religious considerations.

In addition to this if parents or caregivers need additional options or food alternatives we are happy to provide those as well.

Sustainability at Stratton

Woven in to daily activities in the centre is a focus on sustainability. This looks like composting all the food scraps, a reuse of materials that would otherwise end up in landfill, using recycled materials to make art, play and be creative.

Children participate in sustainability hour – the rest period in the middle of the day when the light are turned down or off to conserve energy. They are taught about the water monitors for the taps that conserve water usage. They may participate in learning how to collect rainwater using recycled materials.

The owner & educators at Stratton ELC are consistently devising new ways to be sustainable.
